Kentlands Real Estate

Three decades ago, developers started planning the Kentlands in the neo-traditional “new urbanist” principals, basically promoting environmentally friendly habits by creating walkable neighborhoods containing a wide range of housing and job types.
One of the biggest draws is that you can walk anywhere; numerous restaurants, lakes and outdoor spaces, grocery stores are all within a short walk, each with intentional green spaces or woods dividing them so that you have a suburban oasis.
In the Kentlands, you can see kids running around one of the many parks, families walking together to one of the many restaurants, people walking to the store to get milk, and neighbors gathering together. The sense of community that serves as the ultimate goal of a new urbanist community is certainly achieved here.
Where to live:
The Kentlands offers a wide range of housing types to fit almost any budget or style. Prices in the community range from $275,000 to over $1 million, with everything from apartments and town houses to larger single family homes. There is even a retirement community, Kentland’s Manor. In theory, you could buy you first starter apartment, move into a larger single family home, retire to a smaller more manageable townhouse, and eventually move into a retirement home, all without ever leaving the community.

What to do:
