Located adjacent to the nation's capital of Washington DC, Montgomery County real estate is located in Maryland's most affluent and populous county. Montgomery County was originally named after General Richard Montgomery, and was established by the State Convention in 1776. Today, there are 199 schools in Montgomery County that serve nearly 138,000 students. Thirty-two of the schools are National Blue Ribbon schools. There are also several wonderful hospitals that include Shady Grove, Holy Cross, Suburban, Washington Adventist, Montgomery General Hospital, NIH, and the National Navy Medical Center.
A number of recreational activities are available to owners of Montgomery County real estate, and the area is home to several national and international PGA Golf Events. There are several public golf courses in the area that include Falls Road in Potomac, Little Bennett in Clarksburg, North West Park in Silver Spring, Poolesville in Poolesville, and Redgate in Rockville.
